A discovery of Nicaragua
The story

A discovery of Nicaragua

A coffee that's named baklava and mango gets quite the attention. Among coffee enthusiasts you might consider if this coffee is fermented, or experimental; that's not the case with this coffee. Its unique flavor profile is a collaborative effort from our friends over at Gold Mountain in Nicaragua. A result of a days lot harvest that consistently tastes amazing in a rich and full profile that still hits like a daily driver that's fancy in all the right ways!

The cherries are picked from micro-lots and sun dried and open aired for 34 days on raised beds.

*This coffee is a limited drop, so once it’s gone, it’s gone. But don’t worry, a fresh African crop will take its place after harvest.

01 - Aroma

Warm baklava.

Phyllo, walnut and brown butter coming off the grinder. The crema on the espresso reads honey-amber.

02 - Body

Ripe mango.

Round, juicy, just under syrupy. Holds up in milk without going flat. A clean tropical note, not candy-sweet. Very smooth.

03 - Finish

Clover honey.

Long, soft and slightly floral and nutty. As the cup cools it intensifies yet remains balanced.

FAQ

Common questions.

CAN'T FIND IT? Ask us anything ->

How fresh is my coffee when it arrives?

We roast multiple times a week, and ship within 3 business days of your order. Most US orders arrive 3-5 days. Peak flavor window for coffee is about 7-28 days after roasted. Please give your coffee at minimum 2 days after the roasted on date to rest, this allows for the gas to leave and the flavor to settle.

What grind should I pick if I'm not sure?

Whole bean if you have a grinder. If you do not grind at home, pick the brewer you use most. Pour-over and Aeropress are our recommended brews for this lot.

Is this espresso or filter?

Both. You can pull almost any coffee with any brew method. Some methods will be best suited for certain coffees. See the brew guide for our suggestions.
