A discovery of Limu
The story

A discovery of Limu

We love African coffee and particularly Ethiopia. Every harvest we pick a new farm to highlight from this region. In 2025 we went with Limu, which is a lesser known region of the area that is producing some excellent coffee. One of the most fantastic things about sourcing coffee is the ability to choose different farms, and this one in particular stood out as an approachable lot that was lightly sweet and easy to drink.

Fresh cherries are sorted and pulped then fermented for 36 to 48 hours. After this process it's then dried and off to the mill to be sorted. Pictured is raised beds where we can see sorting and drying taking place.

*This coffee is a limited drop, so once it’s gone, it’s gone. But don’t worry, a fresh African crop will take its place after harvest.

FAQ

Common questions.

CAN'T FIND IT? Ask us anything ->

How fresh is my coffee when it arrives?

We roast multiple times a week, and ship within 3 business days of your order. Most US orders arrive 3-5 days. Peak flavor window for coffee is about 7-28 days after roasted. Please give your coffee at minimum 2 days after the roasted on date to rest, this allows for the gas to leave and the flavor to settle.

What grind should I pick if I'm not sure?

Whole bean if you have a grinder. If you do not grind at home, pick the brewer you use most. If your brewing method doesn't have a recommended grind size, feel free to reach out.

Is this espresso or filter?

Both. You can pull almost any coffee with any brew method. Some methods will be best suited for certain coffees. See the brew guide for our suggestions.
