Tasting Notes: Peach, Papaya, Honey, Tea-Like
Shop the dropMulled Red Wine, Apple, Cherry, and Chocolate
The Reds are back with a bit of a darker flair! If you’ve had the reds in the past expect this coffee to hit just a little deeper than it’s previous release. Enjoy the same smooth, approachable yet elevated cup of coffee with new tasting notes. The profile leans into the red apple but follows with the taste of mulled or red wine, with a heavier body than before. Still a medium roast. The finish is that of chocolate and cherry, just the right sweetness.
An award winning coffee direct from our growers at Gold Mountain. A versatile coffee that is dynamic yet easy to brew and approachable in profile. I highly recommend this coffee as a any brew method you choose, its very versatile!
Measure your coffee in a 17 to 1 ratio. That's 17g of water to every gram of coffee. Start with just after boil water, it should not be bubbling when added to the coffee. Bloom and make 4 to 5 passes with water in a circular motion, careful to let the water drip out before adding more water.
Example:
20g coffee, 340g water, medium-fine grind.
0:00 - Bloom to 60g.
0:45 - Pour to 130g.
1:15 - Pour to 200g.
1:45 - Pour to 270g.
2:15 - Pour to 340g.
Finish around 3:00-3:30.
For this coffee I particularly like it long but, if you run it as a short shot or ristretto it very delightful!
19g Coffee for 42 gram yield
28 to 34 seconds
Play around with this one because its a very sweet shot if dialed in well.
We roast multiple times a week, and ship within 3 business days of your order. Most US orders arrive 3-5 days. Peak flavor window for coffee is about 7-28 days after roasted. Please give your coffee at minimum 2 days after the roasted on date to rest, this allows for the gas to leave and the flavor to settle.
Whole bean if you have a grinder. If you do not grind at home, pick the brewer you use most. If your brewing method doesn't have a recommended grind size, feel free to reach out.
